Backpacking
Europe

Introduction
Trying to figure out where to go can only be decided by personal preferences.  You will of
course have to factor in your budget, ease of transportation, language skills, and opinions of
your travel companions unless you’re going solo.

Generally people seem to know some of the things they “have to see” before even planning
the trip.  Sometimes it may be just one thing that they want to see that got the whole idea in
their head in the first place.

I’ve known several people with European ancestry that what to go to their “homeland.”
Now with these points said, in general I recommend to first timers to go to Western Europe
first.  While it’s usually more expensive, it is just much easier to travel.  Most of the places that
people think of as “must see” places tend to be in Western Europe.

Places such as France and England have a strong setup for travelers and tourists, and for a
person who hasn’t much international travel experience under their belt this can really make
their trip more enjoyable.  I’ve also found that locals of Western European countries are also
more likely to be English speakers which can help out if you don’t know much of their
language.  Also, the Western countries contain more of the “must do” type things such as the
Eiffel Tower and Colusseum.  Sure, there are things to be said and getting off the beaten path
and seeing what most travelers don’t, but first things first.
