Backpacking Europe
Things to Do
|
When traveling to Europe some people go strictly with the idea of partying everyday away.
Others do with the intent of not partying at all, but instead enjoying the culture. I think both
extremes are really silly, find moderation.
I have to wonder why the hard core partiers bother going. Just save yourself lost of time and
money and drink the night away at home. Its not going to be all that different there.
And for those that think it is wasting cultural experience and time, not true. You are going to
meet many amazing people from very diverse backgrounds. You might as well enjoy a few too
many beverages with them.
Top Five Places
1. Pink Palace, Corfu
The Pink Palace is a crazy place. It is located on the island of Corfu of off the west coast of
Greece. With a few minor exceptions there is nothing Greek about the Palace. Once
exception, maybe exception, are their pink toga parties. Definitely a good time. They are held
in the club that the hostel has on site. The Pink Palace assumes the tradition of breaking
plates in celebration as the Greeks do, but the put a new twist on it. Instead of the floor, the
break them on the head of the back packers. Of course the give you a shot of Ouzo, a native
Greek alcohol first to ease the pain. Insurance codes seem to be a bit less stringent here.
2. Ibiza, Spain
One of four island off the Spanish mainland. Your responsibilities here are lounge on the
beach all day, surrounded be beautiful people wearing next to nothing. Night times
responsibilities are going out to world famous clubs that are huge and never seem to close.
