Welcome!!

Welcome to The Traveler’s Pub, an
online resource for adventure
travelers and backpackers of all
types.  Our goal is to help make
planning and embarking on a
backpacking through Europe trip or
elsewhere as easy and as effective
as possible.  Every year thousands
of people of all ages set out to
backpack through Europe.  Each
has there own travel style, some
set out with absolutely no plans at
all, others painstakingly map out
every moment of their trip before
hand.  What ever your travel style
is, The Traveler’s Pub wants to
help make it go smoothly and your
trip to be as enjoyable as possible.

The hardest part for many people
deciding to backpack through
Europe is making the leap of faith
and just going.  Many have the bad
habit of putting it off until next year,
then the year after.  They wait until
they have time or money, but it’s
pretty rare to have both.  The
hardest and first step is making the
promise to yourself that you’re
going to go this year.  That you’ll
scrape together just a few grand
and you’ll take a month or two off
of work and going.  But if you’re
visiting this site, you probably have
a strong interest in traveling.  Just
do it.

Backpacking through Europe will
turn out to be more rewarding than
you can guess.  Everyday you’ll
can see things that people only talk
about and every night you can
meet other backpackers and
travelers from all over the world.
Life is a lot harder; living out of a
backpack, sleeping in a new
(crappy) bed in a different youth
hostel every night, your feet being
so tired, but it will be worth it.  I’ve
never meet a traveler who didn’t
think so.

Backpacking across Europe will
change nearly anyone regardless
of
age.  You can almost be
guaranteed to have stories to tell
and memories for a lifetime.
Backpacking across Europe can be
one of the most broadening and
education experiences you’ll ever
have.  The freedom of jumping
from country to country on the drop
of a hat, the places you’ll see, and
the people you’ll meet are definitely
going to outweigh a few grand and
a month or two at work.

Along the way the possibilities are
endless.  You can see the
magnificence of London and Paris,
lay of the beaches of the
Mediterranean, enjoy a pint of
Guinness in Ireland, whatever.  You’
ll get to experience traveling by
Eurorail, staying in Youth Hostels,
and seeing sites you see on tv and
in magazines.

So if you’re thinking about taking
your first trip, or you’re a veteran
backpacking going back to see the
many things you just ran out of
time to see, go.  We hope that the
information in these pages will
help, maybe entice you to
backpack to places to hadn’t
thought of, get a good deal on
gear, or meet up with fellow minded
backpackers.

Plan well, be safe, and enjoy.

Happy Travels,
The Traveler’s Pub
